reigns as 2007 HOF
Festival Queen
Jillian Walter, 18, of Uniontown, was selected as the
2007 Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce Pro Football Hall of Fame
Festival Queen from a field of 73 contestants on May 3rd
at Canton Palace Theatre in downtown Canton.
Six attendants also
were selected, including Alexandra Anaya, 23, of North Canton, Ohio;
Jazmine Cherry, 19; Anna Kloots, 18, and Mishelle Snyder, 21, all of
Canton; Amanda McVay, 22, of East Sparta; Rachel Seesan, 21, of
Massillon, Ohio.
Walter, the daughter of Jeff and Jean Walter, is a
senior at Green High School and will attend Cleveland State
University in the fall. Anaya, the daughter of Maria Anaya, is a
graduate of Hoover High School and Miami University. Cherry, the
daughter of Tonya Cherry and Brian Fontes, is a graduate of GlenOak
High School and attends Kent State University. Kloots, the daughter
of Fred and Maureen Kloots, is a senior at GlenOak High School and
will attend The Fashion Institute of Technology this fall. McVay,
the daughter of Garen and Donna McVay, is a graduate of Sandy Valley
High School and Marietta College. Seesan, the daughter of Thomas and
Chiquita Seesan, is a graduate of Massillon Washington High School
and attends the University of Dayton. Snyder, the daughter of Todd
and Lisa Snyder, is a graduate of Perry High School and attends Kent
State University.
Kayleigh Kriss, midday personality and FM Music
Director of WHBC Mix 94.1, and Betty M. Smith, Executive Director of
Multi-Development Services of Stark County, served as Pageant
emcees. Bob Hill Orchestra headed by Bob Hill and Ross Watkins
provided music, and Tonya Stuck, Festival event manager, was
choreographer.
Judges for the event included Greg Fahey, senior vice
president, retail market manager, Northeast Ohio Chase Bank; Ken
Huot, customer service & marketing manager, American Electric Power;
Ramon Jones, assistant vice president, personal lines servicing,
Nationwide Insurance Company; and Joyce Yut, museum director,
McKinley Presidential Library & Museum.
Robert F. Belden, 2007 Pro Football Hall of Fame
Festival General Chairman, crowned the new Queen and six Court
members. Jacqueline Thomas, chairman, and the other members of the
Queen Committee will coordinate all Queen and Court activities and
serve as official chaperones.
The Queen and Court will serve as goodwill
ambassadors and positive role models throughout all Festival
activities beginning with the Drum Corps International Competition
on July 7 and continuing July 27 through August 5. Court members
will also escort the 2007 Enshrinees or their representatives – Gene
Hickerson, Michael Irvin, Bruce Matthews, Charlie Sanders, Thurman
Thomas, and Roger Wehrli -- at several Festival events.
