Perkins
of
Canton won a first-place award
and the coveted "Best of Show" in the 21st
annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement
Festival Photo Contest. He also won two
honorable mentions, for a total personal prize
package of $400.
The annual photo contest was open to amateur and
professional photographers alike, and any photos
of outdoor Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival
events qualified for entry. The photos were
judged based on creativity, clarity, depth and
color, overall composition and print quality.
Thirteen photographers won a total cash purse of
$1,700.
Other $100 first-place winners in the
professional category include
William Green of Louisville
(Drum Corps International Competition),
Ernie Aranyosi of Uniontown
(Balloon Classic Invitational) and
Bob
Rossiter of Canton (2-Mile and
5-Mile Races).
Raymond Stewart of Canton won a
first place award (Community Parade) and both
Stewart and
Brook Triplett of Canton were
awarded $25 honorable mentions.
The non-professional category was led by
Larry Clapper of Massillon who
received $200 for two first-place winning photos
from the Drum Corps International Competition
and Timken Grand Parade. Also winning multiple
awards in the non-professional category were
Andy
Smith of Canton with a $100
first place for the Balloon Classic Invitational
and two $25 honorable mentions;
Dominique Tozzi of Youngstown
with a $100 first place for the Ribs Burnoff and
one $25 honorable mention; and
Christina Wine of Massillon with
a $100 first place for the 2-Mile and 5-Mile
Races and one $25 honorable mention. Completing
the winners in the non-professional category
were
Ed
McCall of Canton with $100 for
his first place Community Parade photo,
Heather Lancaster of Magnolia
with $100 for her first place Concert and
Fireworks photo, and
Norm
Kutz of Canton with two
honorable mention awards at $25 each.
The winning photos will be on display at the
Canton Museum of Art from Oct. 30 through Nov.
10.
