Spin Doctors will rock and roll at Ribs Burnoff
Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce Pro Football Hall of Fame
Enshrinement Festival announced that Spin Doctors will rock
the Sheetz Stage on Friday, August 1, at the National Ribs Burnoff
at Stark County Fairgrounds. The concert is presented in
cooperation with Mix 94.1 and News Talk 1480 WHBC and will begin
approximately 8 p.m.
Spin Doctors formed in New York City in 1988 and signed with Epic
Records/Sony Music just two years later. “Up For Grabs” was
released in January of 1991, and in August, they released their
full-length debut album “Picket Full of Kryptonite.” Relentless
touring and a wave of positive press kept the album alive into the
next year when sales began to increase dramatically, and the album
was certified gold in September of 1992. Reaching the one million
mark in January of 1993, the album entered the Billboard Top Ten one
month later and soon was triple platinum, while spinning off two
major hit singles, “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” and the number one
rock radio song of 1993, “Two Princes.”
The popularity of Spin Doctors is based on universal rock and roll
virtues according to Rolling Stone magazine. Following their
debut album was “Turn It Upside Down” which was certified gold,
followed by “You’ve Got To Believe In Something” and “Here Comes The
Bride.” Their latest album titled “Nice Talking To Me” was their
first new studio album in 11 years by the original Spin Doctors, and
it is a mature work that sums up the individual artistic growth of
the band’s members over the past decade. It’s the end of a
three-year period during which the band renewed their dedication to
songwriting, live performance, and the creative process.
To accommodate even more fans at the
concerts, chairs or seating of any kind will not be
permitted anywhere on the track area; it will be free, standing
room only. People wishing to have a reserved seat in the grandstands
can purchase tickets for $8 each. Tickets will be available for
walk-in purchase at all Stark and Summit County Sheetz locations
(24-hour availability), and at the Chamber office at 222 Market
Avenue North from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays, beginning
Thursday, June 26; phone orders will be accepted at the Chamber
beginning Friday, June 27, at 330.458.2088.
