FAQ: Community Parade

What is the date and time for the Community Parade begin?  July 23, 2023

Where is the Community Parade route?  The parade will begin at the corner of 11th Street and Market Avenue North and units will travel south on Market through the heart of downtown Canton, and disband between 2nd and 3rd Streets SE.

How do I get an application for the parade?  CLICK HERE to apply online.  Please call Kathy Lindenberger if you need more information (330) 458-2056.

Is there a fee to enter?  There is no fee to enter unless you are a commercial entity. Commercial advertising shall not be displayed without prior approval of the Enshrinement Festival committee and prior payment of an advertiser’s fee of $250.

Where do I park?  Convenient parking is available on area streets and in surrounding parking lots.

Is there bleacher seating?  There are no reserved bleachers or chairs. Spectators are welcome to find their own place to watch the parade along the route on Market Avenue — bring your lawn chair and sunscreen!

Will the parade be televised locally?  Typically, the parade is locally televised — check back periodically for details.

Can I purchase a video of the parade?  Community Parade DVDs may be purchased by calling Kathy Lindenberger at 330.458.2056.

Where do I drop off participants in the parade?  Traffic is heavy, so it’s very important that you follow directions from the safety officials and volunteers stationed in the area.  Drop off participants in the staging area in the parking lot behind the Masonic Temple — you must enter off Walnut, just south of 9th Street. For the safety of all, vehicles are NOT permitted to stop on Walnut Avenue to drop off participants.

Can participants in the parade throw candy or other items to the spectators, or approach spectators to distribute goodies or information?  Sorry, this is strictly prohibited due to safety and liability reasons.
