The spotlight shined on the Class of 2013 Enshrinees during the prestigious Enshrinees' Gold Jacket Dinner that was held on Friday, August 2, 2013, when Larry Allen, Cris Carter, Curley Culp, Jonathan Ogden , Bill Parcells, Dave Robinson, and Warren Sapp received their Hall of Fame gold jackets. The jacket is one of three symbols of induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and it certainly was an emotional ceremony center stage before a capacity crowd.
The evening started with a cocktail party and dinner prior to the crowd offering warm congratulations to the Class of 2013, along with nearly 100 returning Hall of Famers who came back to Canton to celebrate and to welcome the newest members. The evening’s festivities were emceed by national sports broadcaster Rich Eisen and the Dick McCann and Pete Rozelle Radio-Television awards were presented.
Nearly 22,000 men have played in at least one National Football League game, but since the Pro Football Hall of Fame was established in 1963, only 280 football players, coaches and/or contributors have been inducted into the Hall. The Class of 2013 was welcomed to Canton during the Enshrinees' Gold Jacket Dinner where the most-ever number of Hall of Famers were present to honor the newest members of their fraternity.
